5 years on, Sagrada Familia is still under construction - being the longest construction ever of a cathedral, having span more than 100 years. I suppose another 5 years is just a small fraction of that time line.
Wanting to see how much had changed since the last I visited, and also to go up one of the towers and see the view, I bought tickets online for a scheduled time slot visit into Sagrada as well as up the towers.
Buying online is the best way to get an admission into Sagrada, instead of waiting in the long queues that line Sagrada daily.
Price was on the slightly high end as usual, Euro 29, for admission, audio guide and visit to one of the towers.
Sagrada Familia is still as impressive as ever but I also realised that the audio guide had been simplified and didn't seem to go into the details of some of the elements on the exterior of the structure as it once did before.
I definitely saw some advancement as compared to the previous time I was here and made it a point to visit the interior once more.
It's slated to finish in 2026, in commemoration of the 100th year since Gaudi had passed on.
That's probably when I will aim to revisit Sagrada Familia again, to see the completed work Gaudi had envisioned, a work of art many years ahead of its time.
