Berlin DDR Musuem

DDR (Deutsche Demokratische Republic) or GDR (German Democratic Republic).

I contemplated about visiting the DDR Museum for sometime, especially since earlier in the day I had spend a couple of hours at the Topography of Terror and I was still feeling very heavy from the visit.
I was glad I made the decision to visit the DDR Museum - from the moment I stepped in, I felt I was transported back in time.

It was interesting to see how the decor and a typical house living under the DDR looks like, including items such as a typewriter or a really old TV or day-to-day items that were consumed by people about 40+ years ago.

It also speaks about the type of jobs available in those days, the education system and what people tend to do during their free time.
Even contraception!

There were also many interactive components, such as a driving simulator in a Trabant, or outfits that could be worn back then, and even the type of meals that were had with the ability to print recipes for trying at home! Almost every drawer is meant to be opened and interaction is highly recommended.

I also finally understood why the picture of 2 guys kissing was such a common sight around in Berlin.

Before I know it, 2 hours had gone by very quickly.

Strongly recommended!
