Day 35 : Drive to Zadar

Today's trip to Zadar will usually take me just about 2 hours. There wasn't any particular pit stop I had to do along the way, and thus decided to have a leisure morning in and leave a little later.
I woke up to find that it was snowing, and about an hour later the snow seemed to had gotten heavier. Weather report shows that it is going to be a full day of snow!

Super glad that I had yesterday's weather to visit Plitvice as I don't think I would enjoy it as much in the snow.

Because of the snow, my travel time got a little longer. Even my car was covered with snow before I left!
The 1st 1.5hr was really stressful driving in snowy conditions and having to be extra careful on the road as it's prone to slips. I could even feel myself holding my breath on a number of occasions!
I really have to count my blessings on this trip with the weather and even the car upgrade that I got. The car was really sturdy with the snow conditions and even when I went off road in Croatia in the coast to Kamenjek

Finally I made it out to no longer snowy conditions, but it was extremely windy outside.
At times in the car when driving at a little faster speed I could feel the wind blowing the car, and I had to take extra effort to straighten up the car.

And then I saw the sea!
Arrived into Zadar not too long after and settled into Sky Hostel - a small hostel located at the fringe outside the old town with free parking. There are only 3 rooms each with 4 beds in the room, and a cosy common area.
Unfortunately there was no real kitchen nor stove, only a hot water kettle, griddle and a microwave.

Yesterday's leftover 4 slices pizza became a calzone on the griddle for lunch.
And as I was feeling tired of eating out especially since the options in town isn't very exciting, and I found Indomie at the supermarket (Surprise, surprise!), that became dinner.

Even learnt a new hack on making poached eggs using a microwave - half fill a microwave safe mug with cold water, crack an egg in, and then put in microwave in 30 seconds intervals, checking constantly until the whites are formed.
Mine turned a little over cooked, but it is indeed a very cool hack!

Day 169 - 170 : Flight back to Singapore

I left Stefano's house at 7.45am to catch the 8.07am train to the airport, which later required switching to an airport shuttle from T2 ...
