Today we explore a new village still in the French Basque region, located further down the coast from Biarritz and closer to the Spain border.
St.-Jean-De-Luz is a fishing town with cute Basque houses lining the waterfront and a very nice beach.
Water is super clear with a backdrop of mountains, still with snow on them. Thierry says the snow should all melt by tomorrow as it is getting warmer.
The city centre is small, though there were some buildings with different architecture.
Even the lighthouse looks different from usual.
The church Église Saint-Jean-Baptist has a nice Basque balconies inside. I also noticed the ship hanging in here too.
We stayed in St.-Jean-De-Luz for about 2 hours. As we walked out to leave the town, I spotted these public urinals.
We next drove to Guéthary to check it out also as it was on the way back. Guéthary is located between St.-Jean-De-Luz and Biarritz.
