After hearing my hostel mates dinner last night at a Thai restaurant, with comments that it was pretty good, I had an Asian food craving. Was considering heading to the same restaurant, but as it was getting late and I was too tired to walk any further, I decided to settle for something quick around the area.
The only Asian food I could find was a Chinese restaurant (Long2 Feng4 aka Dragon Phoenix), and I had always been a little hesitant eating Chinese food outside of Asia, as the quality aren’t always the best. However this place had a small and really Chinese type of outlook and decor in it. Plus there were quite a few people inside eating.
So I decided to take a risk and give it a try. Looking at the interior decoration, I would have thought that it would have to be run by a Chinese, but turns out that the cook was a Bolivian!
The menu was of course in Spanish, and I picked out what I thought to be stir fry tofu with chicken.
Shortly after my order was placed, I was given a bowl of soup. What I found hilarious was it was alphabet soup, in a Chinese restaurant?!? It tasted ok, but didn’t finish it.
After about a 20 mins wait, my meal finally came. I think I had a special treatment, as the other people usually had their dish served with plain rice on the same plate.
My tofu with chicken was served on a plate, and I was given a separate serving of fried rice!
Taste wise, it wasn’t too bad actually, though I can’t really make out what the actual dish is in actual Chinese cuisine. Nevertheless I finished most of it and headed back to hostel.
Well if you ever come across Panda Express, go for it. My experience in Prague and I believe they have outlets in Puerto Rico and god knows where
ReplyDeleteOk Mr Foodie! Unfortunately haven't seen any similar around yet, and seems like all the Chinese places I see around the area are all by local chef!
ReplyDeleteWell on the flip side, I ate at another Chinese place in Prague run by Chinese nationals and it was shit.... go figure eh.
