I am glad that on the final day of my stay in Flores, the rain had subsided and the sun came out, giving me a chance to properly explore the island.
It must had been less than regular rainfall that Flores gets, as the water level around Flores seemed higher than usual, and in some spots overflowed into the streets.
Flores is a very beautiful small round island, connected to Santa Elena (the mainland) by a bridge, with only a few streets, running in a circular manner.
It was interesting to had found a sign near the connecting bridge between Flores and Santa Elena for a water theme park, which had been named Singapur!
We are world famous in Guatemala! :D
The area around Los Amigos hostel, where I stayed in during my time in Flores, reminded me of Trinidad, with its colourful houses lining the cobbled pathways.
I also strongly recommend the hostel. It had a great vibe and plenty of open common area for interacting with different guests in the hostel.
The on-site restaurant served great meals and was a life saver especially for not wanting to be outside in the horrible wet weather.
A little expensive but seems to be the case on most places around the island too, possibly catering more to tourists rather than locals on the island.
There's also a separate night lounge on the property, allowing for those who would like to party further to do so, and being well enclosed, it gives the rest of the guests a quiet night's sleep.
