Finca Mystica is located between Merida and San Ramon.
It is called Finca, as it is a farm located on 25 acres of forest. From time to time, you could hear the cries of the howler monkeys on the property, and see fireflies glowing in the night.
They also grow many different herbs, plants and fruit trees on the property, many of which are used to prepare the delicious meals served in their kitchen. .
Dinner menu is changed daily, and served at 7pm, allowing the opportunity for all guests on property to get together and interact.
I had one of my best meals in Nicaragua here, and met some wonderful people who were staying at the property.
I spent 2 nights here, and can say it’s one of the best hostels I had stayed in till date. Besides the good food, and the relaxed and tranquil feel one gets when staying here, the staff is super friendly and always willing to help.
Accommodation wise, there are 5 cabins, 4 of which are private and 1 dorm. The dorm is made up of 6 queen sized beds, and despite the size and number of beds, it is still very spacious.
Getting here can be challenging on public transport, as it is serviced by only a couple buses in a day.
Taxis are rather pricey at about USD30/way, but is the best mode of transportation. It takes about 1 hour to get there in a taxi from Moyogalpa, and passes through scenic views of the villages.
Definitely worth the effort.
