Hostel Recommendation : Salta – Backpackers Hostel Suites & Bars

This hostel is by far the best I have stayed so far.  It looked really new and what I liked about it compared to other hostels is that it is

  • Clean & Well Maintained
  • Mattresses and beds are new
  • Free breakfast (usually a standard for most hostels in South America)
  • Free dinner each night (not fantastic, but it is decent and fills the stomach)
  • Well located and convenient
  • Not too crowded
  • My bed gets made each day

I initially only booked a night at the hostel, but decided to stay on for another 3 nights, especially when I got a good price in my initial booking online.

I was initially staying in a 6 bed dorm on my first night, and had to change to a 14 bed dorm for my additional length of stay.  However, the 14 bed dorm was fairly nice as it was like an apartment, with 2 bed rooms each with 5 beds and the common outside area with 4 beds and a common toilet shared between all people in the 14 bed dorm.

Though it is a big dorm, the hostel was not crowded and of the 3 additional nights that I stayed in the 14 bed dorm, I had the whole room with 5 beds all to myself on 2 of the nights!  Very rare for a hostel!

They were also kind enough to allow me to use the showers before I leave to catch my bus at 9pm even though I had to check out much earlier that day as check out time was 11am,

I was also told that if you arrive at the Bus Terminal in Salta, they will pay for your taxi to get to their hostel.

Wish all hostels were like that and definitely recommended!
