Tierra del Fuego National Park

Visiting and trekking around the Tierra del Fuego National Park is a must do when in Ushuaia and so I put on my new trekking shoes to test it out.

I decided to take the Costera Trail, which took me 3.5hrs to walk along the “coastal” route of the National Park.  I was not a big fan of long treks, but with scenery like here (wonderful scenery of the lakes and snow capped mountains), it was just extremely pleasant walking and taking in the stunning views and capturing some pictures along the way.

I even saw wild horses at the National Park on 2 different occasions!  The 1st time round, a group of them was happily eating grass at the pastures.  About 5 minutes later, there were many loud voices from a distance and they must have thought that there would be danger and suddenly grouped together and galloped to slightly higher grounds.

Really beautiful sight!

The 2nd time round was closer to the end of my treks, with 2 horses eating at a distance in some wild pasture.

Ushuaia 20km awayI finally got to the end of the trek, and saw that I was 20km away from Ushuaia!  Luckily I managed to hitch hike back with good company!

As for the shoes, it was a definite good investment as there were a few terrains in the Park that was muddy and I would have had some difficulties walking in my usual pair of shoes.
