It is the first time I am taking a budget airline in Europe as I boarded Ryanair bound for Fes, and OMG! Did I feel like I was in a marketplace!
The overhead storage compartment was packed with suitcases and not even space to squeeze anything else. It was also free seating and with numerous Moroccan family travelling with young kids, it got rather chaotic.
Air stewardess were trying very hard to get everyone seated and I could feel the plane moving off even before the air stewardess could get all the bags stored and people seated.
Once the plane was in the air, the plane continued to be extremely noisy for the next 1.5 hour, with kids crying and people talking loudly.
A Moroccan couple with a baby was sitting next to me. Throughout the whole flight, the lady who was seating 2 seats away from me, was babbling in Arabic at a very fast speed and in a tone that seemed to be grumbling and complaining. It was a good thing I had my ipod on, however I pitied the husband who kept quiet most of the time.
Promotions such as shopping in the air, food service and lotto (!!!) were also continuously announced by the air stewardess over the sound system. I am so glad the Asian budget flights are of much better quality and service than Ryanair!
I guess this is just an insight to what I might expect in Morocco and I sure hope I can tolerate the chaos-ness and noise I might encounter.
