Day 137 : Peru Immigration

On a number of occasions when I mentioned to others that I am from Singapore, those that have been to Singapore would always bring up the thing about the words they see on the Singapore immigration card (something about “Drug trafficking is an offense that is punishable by death” and in bold red).

So as I was given the immigration card for Peru and I saw on the back of the slip the following “In Peru, commerce sexual exploitation of children and teenagers is punished by jail”, it totally reminded me of the same words which others have said to me about the Singapore immigration card, and couldn’t resist taking a photo shot!

When we got to the Peru border, the lady at the customs processed my documents and passport, and I subsequently went out and waited for the rest to get some money changed. 

A German tourist who sits next to me on the bus came to me and said that his passport has a stamp dated 17 November!  I was in the queue after him when I processed my passport, and I quickly took out mine and realised the same date has been stamped on my passport when it was the 24th November! 

So we headed back in to the customs officer, and said that the date seemed to be wrong.  It was only then she realised she got the wrong date and adjusted the stamp and re-stamped our passports again.  What a blunder!
