Parade on the Streets

Arrived back in Copacabana at about 11.30am after taking the morning ferry from Isla del Sol, and quickly went back to my hostel to pick up my luggage and do some final checks of my emails before heading out to the bus terminal.

The moment I walked out in the streets I found myself in a middle of a parade!  Not sure what was the occasion, but it was really bustling. 

There were rows of women dressed in some traditional costumes and just twirling to some music played by a band. The men were dressed in suits, and they had some kind of a musical instrument in their hands, in the shape of a mask like thing. 

There were also a few guys with trays of drinks in their hand, which were offered to the participants of the parade. 

Most of them would 1st pour a little of the drink onto the ground (probably to offer to Pachamama), before drinking the rest.

Glad to have caught a little of the town’s action before leaving for Peru!
