Day 192 : Baranquilla

I must say that Baranquilla is perhaps the most disappointing city I have been to in Colombia!  Baranquilla was never a planned stop in my original itinerary, but just because there has been so much mentioned about it, (famous for a Carnaval held once a year here in this city), and being enroute to Cartagena, I thought I would stop here for a night to explore the town.

It was probably a mistake.  Firstly, the bus terminal is located extremely far from the centre of the city, and there seemed to be only 1 hostel here in Baranquilla that is listed on the common hostel websites!  The staff at the hostel doesn´t seem to be very helpful on where to go and see in the city either, which probably isn´t too much of their fault, as honestly there wasn´t really anything to see!

After spending 3 hours in the morning trying to walk around hoping to see some of the main sights in the city, and even trying to locate some of the museums (which I failed to locate any just because they don´t seem to be located in the indications on the map!), I decided to give up and head back to the hostel.

The only photos which I probably only managed to take, were of shoes hanging on the electrical wires on the main roads.  It is that bad!  Glad to be making my way in a couple of hours to Cartagena, last stop in Colombia!
