Portobello

Portobello
We had to make a trip to Portobello today to the port authorities to get the paper work done for the boat to go to San Blas, and Niklaus took the opportunity to show me around.

It is an extremely small town, which can be covered within an hour. It used to be a historical fort, with remnants of the fort structures still remaining.

Not very well maintained, and I joked with Niklaus saying that 5 or 10 years later, one will have to pay money to visit the fort – which he totally agreed.

I was also told that it was also in this town that a famous festival takes place – the parade of the Black Jesus, where people from all over the country will embark on a pilgrimage to this town, and as the name goes, a Black Jesus is paraded.
