Wrap Up : Granada

Dates : 22nd – 26th August 2011

Highlights :

There are actually a few other highlights and things to see in Granada, but since I have decided to skip visits to churches and monasteries, the list have dropped significantly.  The biggest highlight in Granada and of course the whole of Andalucía area is the Alhambra.

Overview :

Sharing the same Islamic influence as in Cordoba and Seville, Granada is of course much bigger than Cordoba and smaller than Seville.  However it had a lot more architecturally beautiful buildings similar to what were seen in Madrid

Granada is also very English tourist friendly, as there were a lot of write-ups in the street that had English description.  It is also easy to move around the city just by walking, without much need to take public transportation, which is primarily reliant on buses.

Weather here was also much better than the rest of the cities that were visited to date.  Temperature can fall as low as 17 degrees celsius in the night, and during the day, reach about 40 degrees celsius.

Food wise, Granada has got one of the cheapest tapas that I have seen so far (though you must know where to go)!  I paid Euro 4.20 for 2 plates of tapas and 2 tinto de verano, when the same could have easily cost Euro 10.00 in other places.

Enjoyed myself in Granada as had met some nice people in this city, and who showed me some of the less known spots, some of which probably no tourist or even some locals would ever know to go!
