We woke up at 6am today to go for an early morning walk up to
La Tres Cruces (The Three Crosses), together with Luis' father and another of Luis' friend from Bogota, Fabiola.
La Tres Cruces is located around the northern part of the city centre, which has three huge crosses on top of a hill. The trek up the hill was not easy though, as the path was rocky and often not paved, and on many occasions I was really worried I may end up spraining my ankle again.
It must have taken us about an hour to finally reach the top and be welcomed with an amazing view of the city.

While at the top, there were a few vendors selling juices, which we stopped to have one as well. Not knowing one of the item on the list (
Jugo de Borojo), I asked Luis what it was, and before I could get an explanation, he had already placed an order of it for me.

Expecting just a juice extraction of an unknown fruit (
Borojo), I was somewhat surprised when they started making the juice, as honey, milk, some powder, and at least 2 fruits were placed into the blender and blended together.
Luis' father said it was some kind of power drink, and apparently Borojo is an aphrodisiac too!
When it was served, it looked just like a milk shake, and actually tasted not at all bad, and within moments it was finished!
We quickly made our way back down, and headed home to pack our gear to visit
River Pance, located in the south of the city.

Upon reaching
River Pance, we walked along the river to look for a nice spot to put our stuff and got ready to dip into the water, and oh my gosh was it FREEZING!!! It was a good thing I had brought a rash guard out with me and which helped to provide some warm in the freezingly refreshing cold water.
I also tried for the first time a local candy, called Miel Chancho, made out of honey, and I think peanut! It was pretty yummy, though Luis's sister and Fabiola complained that it was too sweet.
We must have stayed in the water for about a couple of hours to relax before heading to a nearby restaurant to grab a late lunch, where I ordered a fried tilapia fish, and was also served a portion of Sancocho (
a typical local soup made with chicken stock) at the start. Great lunch and healthy day!
