Day 67 : Ipanema and Surroundings

It is another gloomy day outside, but at least it stopped raining by late morning.  So I headed out towards Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas

It is a huge lagoon and on a clear day, one would have been able to see Corcovado and the statue of Jesus Christ

Unfortunately it was still rather cloudy when I got there, and did not manage to see the statue.  Its been 2 days since I arrived in Rio and yet I still have not managed to see itSad smile.  Nevertheless, the view of the lagoon and the mountains were really picturesque!

I walked towards Ipanema beach, which was rather deserted due to the bad weather.  This is suppose to be one of the nicest beach in Rio and with the nice fine sand and long coastal line, I think it would be a great way to spend some time in Rio on a sunny day.

Now I am just hoping that the weather would be much better tomorrow!
