Day 78 : Last Day in Florianopolis

Leonardo took some time out from work this afternoon and drove me to Mirante do Moro da Cruz, a hill in the middle of Florianopolis, to get a good birds-eye-view of the city.

He subsequently dropped me of at the centro to visit some sights while he headed back home to work.

The downtown area of Florianopolis is a rather compact town filled with repetitive shops selling similar items, as well as a couple of churches and a market (Mercado Publico Municipal), which I felt was the most interesting to visit in the whole downtown.

Lots of seafood sold here, and oysters were going cheap!  At about BRL6.00 for a dozen!  Shrimps were also being sold rather reasonably and was previously told that they are cheap here as shrimps and oysters are both harvested in Florianopolis.

As it was still early, I decided to take a slow stroll around the coast to get back home.  Got a close up view of the famous landmark bridge Ponte Hercilio Luz and managed to take some nice shots around the coast.

The weather slowly started to turn cold as the sun set, and I was in shorts!  I recalled seeing 15 degrees celsius!

I quickly picked up pace and headed home, just in time for dinner with again good spread of food.  I feel spoilt!
